People will go for Intel since the performance loss seems negligible compared to the saves on energy consumption and price...
But its $44 by the time it's at retail....

Intel's Atom Processor has been hyped a lot in the media recently.
As it means Intel's entry to the UMPC,MID and Netbook market.
Yet there been not much Benchmarks on it.
We now change this.
We been able to compare up-to-date benchmarks of a 1.6 GHz Atom as well as VIA Isaiah, VIA C7 and Celeron-M at the same clock speed.

By now I have to correct my predication the Isaiah would be faster by the factor two. [seems to refer to older news]
However the Isaiah CPU does very well.
Especially in the Alu Benchmark.
Where it is 25% faster than the Atom at same clock speed.
The floating-point unit of Celeron-M goes in front (but therefore this CPU needs more energy).

The Text says not much more than the Pic itself ;o)
hope you understand my English and don't take any phrase word by word, nor quote me !
