ASUS P5K-V overclocking issues...

Alright. I am beginning to think that this "budget" board just sucks at overclocking...

But here is my issues and maybe you guys can help me out.

The board i am using is the P5K-V. It is G33 chipset based. I am going to guess that this right there is my problem more than anything...

I have a E2200 cpu that i am running with the board and i am trying to overclock the chip to 3ghz stable, but this is becoming a dream i feel...

The E2200 has a 11x multi, so i have been playing around with different combinations of FSB speeds, with different muliplyers, so try sevral different combinations to reach that modest 3Ghz that i think is acheavable out of this setup...

I did put the E2200 in my ASUS maximus formula, and got 3.4Ghz out of it buy leaving the multi at 11x and just upping the FSB with 1.4v core...

One of the main issues i think is causing such a headache is that the CPU voltage is all over the map. Any vcore setting under 1.45v set from the bios (P5K-v) shows up as about .1v less in cpuz. so when i set a vcore at 1.4, i really get somewhere around 1.3-1.325 in cpuz. Any vcore setting over 1.45 from the bios, shows up as about .05 more in cpuz... so a vcore setting at 1.425v really shows up as 1.475v. With this problem, there is a voltage range gap. Voltages from 1.325-1.45 are not available to me...

So... am i pissing in the wind trying to get 3ghz out of this chip, from this board?? or???

Any ideas?? Could it be something as simple as finding the right memory bootstrap/ram divider setting???

Tested everything else. Ram, Hdd, video card... all work perfect...

well, i have it running stable...

I have it set at 10x multi, 290fsb, 1.45vcore that actually vdroops to 1.4008v under full load... ram is running at 761 or something...

3Ghz still seems out of reach at this point...
