Sound Lagging!!!

Thread Starter
For some reason my sound keeps lagging no matter if in XP or Vista 64. I thought the problem was gone and then bam it came back and i have no clue how to get rid of it. My sound will play fine and then bam it will bog down for like 5seconds and then go back to normal and play fine for a like another minute or so and then bam bog down again and just keeps repeating this. What the HELL can i do? How can i test to see if its my motherboard? Also would buying a sound card resolve this problem?

are you doing anything else besides listening to music?
if so goto seagate and run their diagnostic tool on the hd

On the mobo do you have the audio settings too high? I find if I turn up audio quality I can make it lag but thats in games.

its your network card. im 100% sure. i had the same problem. get a different adapter and it will go away. who makes your adapter now. it isnt dlink is it.

EDIT: i used to be a tech and i was a hardware diagnostics tech and i worked with alot of PCs that did that and that was the problem.
