DFI 939 DR Expert problems... What a surpise!!! - Page 4

Thread Starter
lol... i forgot how many memory settings are in this board... :\\

Not to worry though, this ram can handle a lot. I did run a Expert setup back in the day as a main rig for about 8 months, so i am familiar with the bios. This time around it seems that this ram can run in a much wider range of settings than the OCZ 2gb kit i had back when...

Just goes to show that this ram does kick some bootie!!!

Another thing. I do have an opty 170 in the mail... should have been here by now. Anyways, what should i do with this chip? lap it, or remove the IHS???

I'm voting for a lap job over an IHS removal... but you guys should give me some input on this one...

I am dieing for a decent PSU!! The one i have works, but.... I really want to get a 4 pin PSU, so if any of you have one to spare...??

I vote for lapping. Less chance of damaging the chip.

Pending on the GeIL modules (TCCD vs BH) they may not perform as they could as if on the non-Expert boards... also if you do a search around here you will find some information that will help you.
