9800GX2 + 3Dmark06 = Fail - Page 6

Actually it shows it underclocked in CPUZ at 2ghz... So whats up with that?

The bottom line is 10k is too low for that card even for a stock Q6600. I score higher than that with my 8800gt at stock cpu speeds. Basically you are saying that a stock Q6600 = %50 bottle neck for a 9800GX2? Come on guys, I mean seriously now.

I am sure Vista has something to do with it as well. Dual boot with XP to benchmark your system and run games... You will thank yourself later and feel better about your purchase. Use Vista for everything else.

You defrag before a 3dmark test?

I don't do anything, I don't even close programs...

I think its Speedstep that lets the Cpu knock down to its lowest multiplier to save energy/lower heat at idle so its not actually underclocked, soon as theres load it bumps up to highest speed.
