thanks.

the project has turned out to be lot more demanding than I ever anticipated. But thats a good thing 'cause Im learning a lot and also testing my skills and patience.
I must admit I have created high expectations of myself and now the challenge is to keep up to my own standards.

There is a danger that the front air duct assembly may take away attention from the rest of the mod so the challenge to make it good all around is on.

The Firefight shall continue
I hope to have more photos tomorrow.

Well so far you have done some top-notch work, the ducts came up nothing less than spectacular. If you put the same dedication into the rest of the case I have no doubt it will come out looking even better than a stripper doing the splits.

did some more work over the weekend but nothing to shout about just yet - here it goes anyway...

I turned my attention to the top panel.
My friend suggested in no unclear terms that I should carry on with the air duct theme, and make mini ducts for the top panel.

I never had the intention of doing that but I agreed that this would be a good idea and got to it.

First lets review what the top panel looked like up to now.
Photo from few weeks ago - pls note the top left part of the case' s mobo tray assembly has been cut out since then.

To start with I had to drill screw holes for the fan shrouds.
Instead of using some sort of template, I taped 3 fans together and to the panel and used them as my guides.

This way I minimized hole position and alignment errors

Next I did a mock up of an air duct

I will have 2 of these air ducts towards the rear of the case. The front most exhaust solution is being worked on - its a secret atm

There is an obvious problem area - top rear 120mm cut out for the fan - Im working on it.

Currently I am considering blocking it completely or putting up a semi decorative/functional perforated plate - rows of large holes, maybe some acrylic - dunno - still thinking 'bout it.
Suggestions welcomed.

I did the oven trick to get my acrylic cylinders done - so much quicker and easier now that I know what Im doing

The test mobo is a dead early 2004 model DFI LanParty NFII - ahhh this was a beauty but it died recently - bad memory controller during POST

Cheers all for now.

Hey all. I used to be able to change the name of my thread in the past but not anymore.
I need to drop the 'mod (was 'Panzer)' bit from the project title.
Excuse my ignorance but which moderator should I contact re this
