As for saws: You don't need anything fancy, but the blade needs to spin true and be sharp.

As you can see that battleaxe has seen better days, but she cuts like a champ. The blase costs about US$5.00, and the saw is esentially worthless as it is so beat to heck...

If your acrylic is "cast" then melting will not be an issue. If it is "extruded" then melting may be an issue.
You could use a bansaw. Ive seen those used on acrylic and they were amazingly.

Working with the big file is not pleasant - lot of noise and u need to apply considerable pressure to the work or you will get lot of horrible screeching.
Going slow also improves results.

I was rather tired after I finished filing the whole thing.

If all goes to plan, the rectangular fan screw hole tabs will not be visible. I always try to have a 'plan B' in case something doesnt work out...the tabs can be modified if need arise.
If you have a dremel you can use a grinding stone.

also your your side panel EuroFix try this out. i send you a message explaining it. YOull need a dremel and a etching tool bit for that dremel.

Use clear acrylic and etch in a similar pattern to my picture i have uploaded and with red cathodes the design would look amazing and the etched lines would like up a bit.

This does look absolutely amazing though!!!!!!!!
