HmmI had an idea...how well would a fully mesh side panel work? of course it'd have filters, but would it still allow in a helluva lot of dust?

Thanks. After Im finished putting on the mesh I plan to bolt on a plaque in the top right corner of the panel with project name and some other 'insignia' engraved into it - then my attention will turn to the RHS panel...

yeah, epic in terms of how long it took me to finish it lol!

Yep, I feel lucky because at some point I had that sinking 'oh no' moment and had to improvise something to recover from the situation.

Well, last time I posted, I was in process of saving LHS side panel. I did not like the first effort so I stripped the panel back to nothing and started again - and guess what! I did not like the outcome of second attempt either!

I was going to have the mesh all over the panel:

I never finished it because I realized that it looked crap again
So back to beginning

But today I believe I had a win!
The solution: Aluminum Flat Bars
Off goes the rubber moulding! I will have nice, smooth, straight edges now

I bought 2 x 2m lengths

I had to improvise a simple jig to ensure nice straight cuts - it worked very well

Should I put the mesh there or not?
And if yes, then should I glue it down or use screws?

The alu bars have added strength and rigidity to the panel which was suffering from 'wobblies' after all the window cutting. The panel feels and handles much better now

So I could either paint the bars matte black or cover them in CF film. Currently I am leaning towards painting because more carbon fibre film may be bit of an overkill.
I will paint them and then if Im not happy, will try the CF film - but I think the bars will look good painted.
I will also paint the washers but leave the screw heads as are.

There is also change to the way acrylic windows will be integrated into the panel. I will show the other side of the panel later to explain.

I plan to do that tomorrow.
Thanks for persevering with me
