Get an 8800 GTS (g92). The 9800GTX is basically the same thing, but runs 25Mhz faster, has a few extra goodies, and costs far more.

The 8800 will run all games (including Crysis) maxed @ 1280x1024.

HAHAHAHAHAH.......crysis maxed at 1280*1024????.......on my system below , i get big slowdowns.....it might be playable for some people , but for me <30 fps , is unplayable.....

I had the 8800GTS G80 , and theirs a huge difference in performance , biggest difference i noticed was crysis , with the g80 crysis on max is completely unplayable , with the 9800 , its now semi-playable......

get the 9800gtx.....u wont regret it , hell , get a 9800GX2 if u can.......

also , post a list of games u wana play.....

if u wana play bf2 or cs , then stick with ur current card , if ya wana play crysis , dont get a 9800gtx , cos that wont solve ur problems , get a 9800gx2 ......etc.....soo post a list of games u wana play!

I would wait for the 9900. The 9800gtx is not a great gpu for the money.

I was gona get the 9800GX2 but I was turned off by the fact that it exhausts into the PC case plus causing other components like CPU and NB temps to rise. I thought 9800GTX would be my next best option. As for Crysis Ive cleared it 3 times over and I dont intend playing it a 4th. I heard this card has great OC abilities which also drew me to it. I think I'll shoot for it. Sounds like a good step-up from my 8800gts.

lol porky... I average 52 fps on all high and no AA at 1280x1024.... I'd say 52 fps is very playable. Very smooth framerates.

I enjoy Crysis 5 times more now.

Best cards are either the 8800GTX or the 512GTS. I did a 1920x1200/AAx8Q and AFx16(I always have AFx16(forced in NV control)) and it worked stable in 20-30FPS.
