bfg tech 8800gts oc card HELP - Page 3

I had this happen to me a while back,I took the battery on the motherboard out waited about 5 or 10minutes..put battery back in then it booted up..

Yeah, like I said before, I wouldnt rule out it being a cpu or ram or even a motherboard issue either.

Try getting it to work with just one stick of memory. If you have different RAM on hand (that's the same type), try just one stick of that as well. It could be that your board isn't supplying enough volts to the memory to make it post.

Could be some sort of power not being hooked up.

Could be CPU / RAM / GPU just needs a reseat.

If all the above fails, motherboard or CPU may just need RMA'd...motherboard would be my first guess.

ok, well i have reseated the ram and gpu. gah i thought in the first place i would have to rma the mobo. i hope i fix it before having to take off my tuniq tower and reseating the cpu. that will be a pain in the ass

thats what your prob going to have to do. take off the tower, reseat the cpu. besides what you may think it could honestly really help. something might not be seated properly and if it is in fact your CPU then its a MAJOR problem. won't kill anything but it needs to, obviously, be seated properly. get on aim dude.

Have you tried every configuration of ram and the different dimm slots? Its also possible your mobo is shorting somewhere in your case. Are there standoffs that werent used in screwing down the mobo?

yes their are leftover standoffs. i built the pc. the ram should be in dimm 0 and thats what its seated in now, nothing else. theirs only one stick in.
