I tried it a week ago, and under XP x64 it installed some borked Russian d3d8.dll file and made me reformat (didn't find out what caused till after reformat).

Do not use that POS.

According to the site I found the project was abandoned on January 6th of 2008 by Alky anyhow.

by the time someone finally figures out how to port dx10 to xp, windows 7 will be out and vista will be on sp3, dx11 will be right around the corner and support for xp will be near extinct. I love xp and dual-boot it and vista, but seriously, there is virtually no chance a project like that would have an acceptable timetable for what it would hope to provide for the xp community.
