I'd deffintely go w/ a Q6600 G0. My friend and I overclocked his very easily and we got pretty high temps and its still alive! Q6600 is cheaper and more durable.

Q9450. Also, 3.6 isn't a guarantee for the Q6600, that'd be a pretty beastly OC on it. I think 3.2-3.3 is the most you can say is "guaranteed", though nothing really is. Go with the newer Q9450.

I'm running the q6600 @ 3.6ghz on air and I am blown away. I would have never thought this chip would be able to run so fast/handle so much multitasking. It definitely gets my vote.

My Q6600 GO @ 3.6GHz on the ZEROtherm 120mm. air cooler is simply amazing. I don't go above 65 degrees Celsius while playing Crysis or any other games and this thing doesn't even blink. The only upgrades I'll need over the next few years is some crazy water cooling because I know my Q6600 GO can run at 3.8GHz (it just gets way too hot) and I have even been able to post and run Super PI at 3.9GHz on my air cooler. The Q6600 GO is a beast of an overclocker and it gets my vote until the 45nm. processors prove their worth in the price/performance category.

I'm going to chime in and say the Q6700 has more potential then both since it is going to be approx $270 with the Intel price drop. But my vote is for the Q6600 at 3.6GHz.
