Biocide: Where to get it other than Petra-Techs

I've been looking for a local store that may sell some type of Biocide or PT Nuke as its called from PetraTechs, but I don't need anything other than some Biocide otherwise I would buy the little bottle form Petra-Techs, but since they don't have some of the items that I want instock other than the PT Nuke, I figured I better not since I don't want to spend extra just for shipping when its only going to be a little bottle of biocide.

I Don't want to spend more money for shipping just to get something so small, when I can get other things and get my shippings worth, but in this case I don't need/want anything esle from Petra-Techs, so does anyone know of any local stores. I've thought about a Swimming Pool Shop. Other than that I don't believe Wal-Mart/Home Detop/Lowes or any other general type stores carry this kind of porduct in small amounts.

Sorry if I sound redundant, and at the same time it may seem pointless to even ask, but I figured why not. If anyone has any answer to this would be great!

Some guys run aquarium biocides, not sure of the names of any, look for some with copper sulfate in it, don't use to much, it might make your coolant more acidic, you want to keep your coolant on the alkaline side, around 7-8 on the Ph scale..More acidic coolants are more corrosive to metal...You can just dump in a half bottle of iodine tincture to, the kind with alcohol in it, comes in a little 1 ounce bottle....Some guys spray in a little Lysol or Lysterine stuff like that, it doesn't take much...Grab some Ph test strips if your around the aquarium gear, they are pretty cheap and its easy to test your Ph with them, thats what I use to check mine...

One of these 2 links deals with some biocides you can use...I really like the PT Nuke Man, it works great, I order a bottle or two every time I order anything from them...If your using a anti-freeze for a coolant, like Pentosin, it will help a little to anyway..I think these 2 links are the best WC'ing coolants links on the web..

I was told a shot glass or two of bleach works fine too, but I never tried it.

If you could get a couple silver chunks (nothing fancy, just something that can be dropped into a reservoir), those would work great- Insta-biocide for sure. Kills vampires too, if you ever run into them.

Yeah go to your local pet store. Grab some copper sulfate and whack a couple of drops in.

Thanks this helps alot you guys.

On a side note. I didn't think pet stores carried this stuff. Isn't biocide fish unfriendly?
