Recommend me a mobo

Thread Starter
I got rid of my s939 system and building an intel rig now.

I have these right now :

- Xeon 3110 (Can go 4.1 stable)
- 2x1GB Corsair Dominator DDR2 1066
- eVGA 8800gt SC
- Enermax Liberty 620W

I am thinking of going SLI later. What is your recommendation on the mobo ? Does SLI worth going for a more expensive mobo ? I need a mobo that will let me OC that xeon to 4.1ghz stable but nothing fancy.

Thanks...

evga 750i ftw

On Par with a 780i in every way, except it does not have tri sli, something you cannot do with an 8800 gt anyways.

For sli that is your best choice atm.
With decent cooling, you should be able to get it no prob...
If you need a cooler i would recommend either this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835233003
Or a TRUE tower.

The xigmatek cooler will perform a bit less, but is still about $20+ cheaper, so it is up to you on how much you want to spend.

You can also get a tuniq, but i don't recommend it as it is hard to install and the TRUE outperforms it (i have a tuniq)

If you want guaranteed best clocks out of your CPU then go with the DFI LP DK P35

From what i've heard the 680i is relatively bad at overclocking.
I once again confirm that the 750iFTW will be your best bet.
In fact, come monday, I am ordering one for myself.

You lose one SLI slot and 2 Sata ports....maybe a LAN port too...and a hundred dollars off the 780i

EVGA 750i FTW = for the win in my books
