Is coretemp accurate? - Page 2

I'm not really sure if I think Core Temp is right on.... Well maybe not as much with the newer Wolfdales... Or maybe just mine. Oh who knows.

Here is what I am finding.........

My provided temp monitor from MSI ("DualCoreCenter")
Shows temps around 33-38c under load. This is with an E8200 o/c to 3.8Ghz.
I know this is too low so I downloaded Core Temp and RealTemp 2.41.

Core Temps is showing my processors around 51-57c and RealTemp is showing
them around 45-48c.

The difference is enough to make someone wonder what to think.... Anyone with a link to someone who has verified any of these programs with a temperature probe?

I get a Tj Max of 95C in RealTemp and 100C in CoreTemp.

Why is it different? The site on RealTemp says that CoreTemp is wrong, but is it really?

Realtemp was made for 45nm chips, they have a diffrent tj max than the 65nm chips. If you would rather use real temp for your 65nm chip just change the tj max, just edit one of the files in your realtemp directory, theres a notepad file called "RealTemp", just open it, add the number you need (theres a list in there) save and open realtemp

I am unimpressed, with coretemp. It has never read right on my brisbane cored amd's, in fact on my 5000BE its reads idle temps at 8C and 10C when ambient is 18C,(1.5v vcore).

I am wondering how right it is as well, because on my 6000x2 I am running 1.45v @ 3.3ghz, with a zalman 9700 and ambient temp of 18C and according to coretemp I am idling at 38C/39C and 51C/51C under load. But I have a program that came with my dfi smart guardian program that reads idle at 38C and load at 57C.....

Speed fan locks dfi 790FX-M2R's so I have nothing else to look at lol.
