Will this work? --> Antec 900 - DFI DK P35 - Zalman 9700 LED

Hello All,

I'm down to my last decision for the new rig I am building. I want to make sure that everything will fit together, and that I have a good CPU HSF. I am planning on overclocking an E3110 to 4GHz on the DFI Lanparty DK P35-T2RS in an Antec 900 case. (Thanks to so many people on this forum for getting me that far )

I have used and really liked the Zalman 9700 LED in other cases before, but I get the impression from the threads on this forum that people believe it is sub-par to the TRUE-120. With a 45nm proc, I am wondering just how much effort I need to go to to keep it cool...it should be cooler than my E6600 65nm proc to begin with. Plus, I am nervous about fiting a TRUE 120 or a TUNIQ Tower in the Antec 900. I have heard it can be tough and might need some mods. I am not that good at making mods

Will the Zalman be good enough? Or is there another cooler that people would recommend given my parts and my criteria?

Thanks in advance...

The CNPS 9700 is far from a terrible cooler - the only real gripes I have with it are that it's a bit noisy, and the fan is proprietary. If you've used it before and liked using it, stick with it.

The 45NM chips don't put out much heat compared to your E6600

The 9700 Will be fine mate

Thanks guys, those are exactly the responses I was hoping to get. I know that the TRUE 120 and the Tuniq coolers are superior to the Zalman. And perhaps down the road, when I want to go beyond 4GHz, I will buy one of those HSF, but for now, I will go with the 9700.

The Tuniq Tower won't fit on that mobo without modifying the H bracket. I'm wanting to know if the 9700 fits as is, haven't gotten an answer in that mobo's specific thread yet.
