Overclocking and Lifespan

My CPU has a stock VID of 1.2000v. Now say if I left it at stock and it lasted 8 years and if I OC'd the CPU to a higher speed and upped the voltage to 1.4000v by roughly how much would I be cutting the lifespan of the CPU even if it is adequately cooled?

I want to keep my E4500 for about 5 years.

you should easily get 5 years with that voltage and life span only depends on individual cpu's for all you know it could last 20 years with that voltage

It will defiantly last 5 years. In most cases, moderate overvolting will only reduce the lifespan of a desktop CPU from 12 years to about 10, 8 at the very least.

Any vcore 1.50v or lower does not have much of an impact on life span, that is why Intel changed max vcore to 1.50v for 65nm. As long as you are under thermal spec of 73c and below 1.50v life span won't be touched much at all. 1.4v is perfectly safe, just watch the temps.

Noone knows for sure but we can all guess. Either way it will probably outlast the life of the chip that you are using.

Has the 4500 even been out for 5 to 10yrs. I think like what a year. So noone really knows for sure, heck even the 65nm process hasnt been out that long.
