Hello!

As the title says, what is the difference between the stepping on the Q6600 CPU?

(My first post, LoL)

You mean B3 stepping, the difference is B3's 62c thermal spec and G0's 71c thermal spec and the B3 has a 105W TDP while the G0 has a 95W TDP, meaning the G0 outputs a little less heat while it can tolerate more heat, meaning better overclocking usually.

TDP stands for thermal dissapation power.

EDIT: And welcome to OCN

you mean b3.

B3 is older, and runs hotter. Generally g0 is better as it doesn't have as high temps as B3, meaning it can be OCed further... basically, get G0 if you can.

welcome to the forums, by the way - hope you enjoy it here...

And dont forget that they fixed that problem that the B3 and earlier chips had. Forgot what it was but some manufacturing error that they had. That was the original big deal with changing from B3 to G0.
