New to AMD OCing... Q's here.... - Page 2

Yeah, one thing ive learned is that with the old pc133 ram and etc is that they are horride at overclocking. My first overclock was a K6-2 Super Socket 7 and i could only make it stable at 550mhz because at 600mhz the ram would crap out. I think the most you could get is about 1.4. But does your motherboard have Jumpers on it??

AMD's reccomended MAX voltage is 1.85v... Operating range is 1.65v-1.85v.

Umm, I don't know... I'll take a look when I put in the floppy drive to update my BIOS.

Good luck original poster.
as you just stated, updaitng bios isnt ALWAYS a stable one, might as well risk that chance? what is there to lose? ever since i update my bios, i can run 3.7 ghz on my CPU. and the truth is, intel is easier to overclock, especially from a person that had 3 AMD processors before going intel

what can go wrong is the op could update to an even more unstable bios and have problems flashing back or there is always that chance of a bad flash.
BUT anyway lets leave the rest of the posts to helping the guy. cya
