I only run the scanner for that long to find my 24/7 overclock. If I am testing to find just my benching OC, five minutes or so is long enough

And normally it will detect an artifact within the first 2 minutes if you have went way to high. You have to watch though cause sometimes it won't catch an artifact but you can see it in the cube.

OK, so i overclocked my GPU to the following:
Core =720 mhz
Memory =1,000 mhz
Shader = 1,550 mhz

My new score is 13,451. I have increased my score by 1,000 points since the beginning. Needless to say I am very proud of my first rig that I built.

Nice work. Now the next step is, since you have the capability with you board, to get another 8800 GT and go SLI. There are at least three 8800GTs in the For Sale Section here, some are as cheap as $150 shipped.

I can get a new XFX 8800GT from newegg for $180 shipped. I will just buy a new one.

However, since I don't really game. I am going to finish my other pieces first:
SAS controller
4X 15K 147gb SAS drives in RAID 0
2 more gigs of memory

I am also going to water cool the CPU as I am going to 3.6, maybe 3.8 ghz

I know people will say that I do not need to water cool my CPU but, with 6 drives in my case, there is going to be a lot of heat put off.

Don't game but your trying to increase a gamer benchmarking program score?

And I doubt anyone will say you shouldn't water cool. Here one doesn't need a practical reason for adding more components or tinkering

I didnt know what other benchmark to use. I was curious as to what my first build was capable of.
