Now i'm really confused... Is there's any proof of it being 2x16 / 2x8 in SLI?
MB owners help needed

And just for the record: screw ASUS, i'm kicking myself for getting their custom design that just doesn't work!

go to the link I just posted above, it is the evga technician who confirmed it is dual x16.

I have to agree about the Evga FTW motherboard. I really wish I would have waited a little longer and just bought that.....

Here is a link to a great review at Guru3d:

Well.... I'll be danged. The 2 X PCI-E 8x is a misprint in the manual. In that case, the EVGA 750i is an even more impressive board with dual PCI-E 16x capability.

It is dual x16.

Inside the manual, that is a misprint, we are updating that now.

Thanks
PS: Thanks Joemaniaci for the nice find on that one.

I was about to order the EVGA 750I FTW until I read the problems with the Sata ports. There are a number of threads on the EVGA site that talk about it so I won't post the links. The EVGA tech said they are looking into it (that was what he said about the 650I fan control problem too).

So as far as I can tell the problem is this:

When you configure raid on your Sata drives, it makes all 4 Sata ports Raid (NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO).

There was one guy who wanted a standard Sata Vista volume and a raid 0 storage volume. So he installed Vista on the Sata drive and then set up the other 2 drives as raid 0 and it wont see his Vista volume anymore because it changes all or nothing to raid.

Another person had 2 sata drives set up in raid 0 for their windows volume and they had a Sata Dvd drive. It would not boot off the DVD drive with any combination of setups because when you set up one port raid they all are raid. So he had to install an IDE DVD drive to get his system up.

Those types of problems are completely unacceptable with a board of that price. And it isn't like Sata DVD drives are new. I am running one on my 650i with a Raid 0 windows volume and a standard sata storage volume. It works there but that same config would fail on the 750i.

So in EVGA's usual form the only confirmation of this is from their forum tech who said they are looking into it a week ago. They continue to sell the board on their website with no notice of the problem.

If I bought it I would be awfully p.o.'d that they didnt warn me of such a huge problem.

No wonder newegg has the board on a non-refundable status instead or their normal return policy or 30 day return policy.

Sorry to be so long winded but I thought some of you would want to know.

Edit..... they have officially said the workaround is don't use a Sata DVD if you are using Raid. They have no ETA for a fix at this time. Leave it to EVGA to only understand a little piece of the problem. They have ignored the full picture and addressed one little portion of it. Oh well. I'm done with them.
