Need to free uo more RAM, looking for advice.

I'm running some unknown RAM in my computer lol, and i have no idea there specs, but right now im running windows vista ultimate and it runs really slow, i know about removing vista's graphics and so on for the windows to make things run smoother, and i run windows sidebar as well, but what i need help with is my RAM is always running at 60-80% and i only have 1GB of RAM, and yes i know vista should be ran on at least 2GB+, but in my task manager im running over 80 processes now is this normal? sidebar runs at 60k and all the other stuff run at around 1k and lower, just wondering how i can find out how to make some of them not run in the background anymore so i can at least get some more RAM memory freed up.

I'm not quiet sure on what i can disable and what i should be leaving alone.

over 80 is a whole lot. I have 54, and I haven't done any attempt to shut services down, etc. Check if there is anything there that you can easily ditch, and uninstall that program or disable the matching service.
