ok i messing with my 4200x2 and i got it to 2.750.1ghz@1.40vcore the temp is 32c.
multiplier is 11x
my bus speed is 250
my ht link is 1,000

and how long with this cpu last at this speed

that depends on your load temps. i try not to let mine go above 50c. i hit 2.75 on stock voltage, stable.

You could try a 5x htt link. I had 1250 htt on my board with an x2 3800 and it was perfectly stable.

Keep pushing your chip, it'll last forever at 1.5vCore as along as it's under 55C load.

AMD, is that a Manchester core or Toledo? Manchester cores typically require quite a bit voltage around 2.6-2.7Ghz. If you have a Manchester core then your OC is pretty impressive for 1.4volts
Are you Orthos stable at that speed?

Run CoreTemp and keep it in the background (if you aren't already.)

Download Prime95 and run the "Small FFT's" benchmark. This will stress your CPU the most. Watch the temps and make sure they stay under 55-60C.

1.4V is perfectly fine for your Athlon 64 X2 CPU, given proper temps. Run the Prime95 benchmark for at least 4-8 hours to ensure your overclock is stable. You could go as high as 1.5V Core (or arguably higher).

Choggs, the Orthos blend test would probably be the better pick for his situation. The blend test will stress the IMC (integrated memory controller) along with his processor overclock. I found the small ffts test to only reflect processor stability and not processor + memory stability.

Good to know.

And Prime 95 also has the same blend test/calculations that Orthos uses. Just select "Blend" under test type.

Choggs, with Prime95 though you need have two instances open in order for it to stress both cores. Orthos (which is prime95) is optimized for dual cores and only needs to be opened once

No you don't. The newest version (which I linked to), automatically runs as many instances as cores you have.

EDIT: Actually, I worded that wrong. It stresses multiple cores on a single instance. It runs a stress thread for each core inside the main window, similar to Orthos.
