cant get my G0 q6600 passed 3.2 - Page 2

My guess is you have hit a FSB hole. Try a 1500 QDR and see if you can go past it. You might need more vcore since you will also be clocking your CPU higher.

But if you want to verify it is a FSB hole, leave the FSB at the same setting it doesnt boot at, and lower your multi to 8x to see what happens.

I second that one... funny how some boards get stuck at diff places, then u pass it by and it works...

Yep sounds like a FSB hole to me too. I have one at about 366-390ish fsb. Its a complete pain. And if I try to run it higher it takes alot of vcore. So I settled with 3.2 on my chip at 1.34 vcore. And from what I have read these fsb holes occur at different frequencies for different boards. Meaning they don't all error at the same place. Its just a pain.

try increasing the NB to somewhere around 1.4 or 1.5v and dont leave it on auto. my mobo defaults at 1.25v, which is not enough.

well as of now im sitting at 3.4... im running prime 95 v 25.5 and so far its not failing. its set at 1700 x 8, coulndt get it with 1512 x 9, but for some reason the x 8 multiplier gave me a good boot.

i have my vcore at 1.45, cpuz says my vcore is 1.368
my fsb is at 1.4
spp at 1.45
mcp auto

memorry is at 2.2v... hopefully this is stable, ill repost after prime 95 is done. im going to run OCCT later tonight when im finished obssessing.

next step will be 3.6

ok im sitting at 3.4 atm 1700 x 8 multiplier. 1512 x 9 didnt work for some reason.

my vcore is at 1.45, cpuz reads it at 1.368 --- im assuming that minus cpuz is vdroop?
fsb at 1.4
spp at 1.45
mem at 2.2v
mcp at auto

question: im running my 1066 memory at 10066 mhz, should i lower it to 800 or raise it higher if i want to achieve 3.6?

i have been running prime95 v25 now for 20 minutes with no problems. my load with prime ranges from 38-45 per core, and idle im at 27.

things seem to be going well, although i still want 3.6

any thoughts are very welcomed, im still a huge noob in the OC world and want to become pro, so please be critical.

I know 1.45 isnt enough for mine @ 3.4, and my vdroop only puts it 1.38 under load, so next would be 1.475 IMO if ur ok with temps.
Im content at 1.42 and 3.2 here, at least til I can get a decent board to do a vdroop volt mod to.

temps get max 55 at 1.45 vcore--- what temp should i start worrying? i just put it back at 3.2, i cant for the life of me get it stable at 3.4... when i set vcore in bios to 1.45 it reads it on cpuz at 1.401. so that is what vdroop is im assuming.

anyway here is last try and still a fail

vcore - 1.45
fsb 1.4
spp 1.45
mcp 1.525
mem 2.2

stock v for my memory is 2.3v though but its in the red on my bios, so i have it at 2.2.

any more suggestions?
