Thread Starter
hiii, im completely new to overclocking so i think i need some help. the only experience i have in overlcoking is moving bars in ntune and jsut changeing the fsb for my cpu, and thats about it. i have nfi on voltages, ram timings, etc etc. so i was jsut wonderingif someone could teach me how to overclock, or not really teach but jsut ell me what to set the settings to without knowing what it is cos i tried putting it up to 3ghz +++ but it jsut doesnt start. can anyone recommend me something?

and i mean overclock EVERYTHING. some people wd probablhy thing oh 2.9ghz is reallygood. i persoannly think its really good but i wud really love an extra 0.5 ghz

dont be scared to give me some ideas, im not really worried if my whole computer burns up and kills me! thxx

and what i mean by overclocking everything means, recommend not only the cpu, but ram, vid cards, hd if possible pci slots whatevrrrr thankks!!!!

First thing you need to do is to rise your Vcore. The reason its not booting up is because you dont have enough Vcore voltage. Also, what are your temperatures like at 2.9ghz?

Use Core Temp to find your VID and then move up in steps from that value. Your VID is the default voltage core that your chip should be running at. Too little and your system becomes unstable. Too much and you could do damage.

I'd set your memory to it's factory timings, voltage and frequency and then begin your overclock. That way you know that your memory isn't messing things up. Once your CPU is stable at 3Ghz then you can begin on your memory.

As I said in another thread in another section, watch your CPU temperature. You're running the stock heatsink and unless you're one of the lucky people that is able to run a very low vcore you'll probably end up reaching your chip's maximum temperature.
