Have a problem, help pls.

Thread Starter
hey guys, I have a problem on my motherboard and my gpu.
I have a M2N32 SLI DX and a 8800GTS.
From what I know all PCI Express slots have a little hook thing to release the video cards from. On my board since the heatsink pipes are so close to the slot the little hook thing broke off. I dont know how to take out my card because you have to push the hook thing down in order to take the card out.
The reason why I ask is because the clear Cmos jumper is next to the PCI Express slot and I cant access it due to the the 8800 taking up two slots.
Thanks again!

can you post a picture of the slot/card with the broken part? I would think you could just pull it out, back of the card first but pics might help.

hey thnx 4 replying, I could try to take a pic of it when I get home from work but my HSF for my cpu is huge. It takes up the whole space so you cant really see it. I'll try to take a pic of it but heres a pic of the board with nothing installed. The PCI Express port (blue) has a little lock thingy, and thats the part that broke off.

if the blue peice broke off so there is no clip then it should jut pull out

but if it broke off and the locking peice is still attached, just use aflat head to unlock it and pull up on the card

The thing is, the card is so huge I cant even fit anything near the socket.
It also doesnt help that I have a big HSF that blocks it, so I would have to take that out in order to take out the card I guess.
I'll try to post pics later, reason Im asking is because I plan to get a new case, but I cant screw out the board cuz the 8800 is blocking one of the screws that mounts it to the chasis.
