pro evolution soccer 08 help

I suck at the game and could use some help here. so far I have either lost or at best tied every match under the master league. Granted I don't have a grreat grasp of soccer tactics but I would like to do a little better then this.

I get beat almost every time I try to cross, I can never really get close enough to take a shot from inside the box if do by some miracle my shot goes wide or high, from outside the box same thing usually happens unless a defender gets in the way, a lot of my passes get intercepted, they find it real easy to tackle me and that is just offence. on defence I can almost never get a good tackle in. more often then not it either ends up they can get around/away from from me or I get pissed and knock them to their bum and see yellow (just as a side note rules suck I can play with 6 men on the field if they would let me ), they win crosses and headers quite often and every pass gets made complete.

help me please. what can I do to stop them more often and get more shots on target.

Pes08's definitely harder to defend in than the previous game (pes6).

Couple of options, if you put the difficulty to the first or second option, you should be better off, as the opposition doesn't sprint, which will allow you to chase them back when they're attacking, and make their movement more predictable for tackling, (e.g. they won't unexpectedly sprint).

If you're already doing this, then holding shoot when they're attacking makes your team pressure them, and can tackle for you. I tend to play 4-5-1, and while I can win the ball in midfield, I'm limited in attacking options, I'd prefer 352, but i overcommit to tackles on the wing and need my full backs for a second chance.

Helps for attacking as well, since they can't sprint, you can get a speedy winger and just run past their team - won't help onthe harder difficulties, but handy for building up some experience and lets you get some shots off.

As for shooting, if your player is facing away from the goal, and you try to shoot, they'll turn and tend to sky it completely.

I'm no master of the game, but if you're sprinting it's very hard to get a decent shot away, you can score from very far out if you're able to stop sprinting and take a few paces.

I find it hard to break down the opposition on master league with the medium difficulty, not helped by how limited the standard default team is, always worth buying a decent midfielder to give you some options, or start with a club team instead.

Hope there's something in there that might help.

Oh and if you work out how to get anything out of a free kick let me know! - To me its just an opportunity to get +1 match stats, not scored one yet!
