Ah, those crazy E2140's....... - Page 6

Well I stand corrected. I went over these pages twice but I'm trying to multitask a bit cuz i'm working. I saw a link from a different user to a different validation and that's all that caught my eye until someone said it was already posted, then I went back. If they can do 3.5 on stock, that's something interesting. I'm curious to see what it would take to push it to 4GHz as far as cooling and voltage goes

I am trying to fiddle around with vtt voltage and gtlref a bit
and see if I can raise the fsb wall, but I doubt anything would come out of it.

Highest POST I have got on water so far, out of my e2xxx's is a 380*10 on an e2200..I have made a few POST's at 400+FSB with a 2140,2160..but from what I can tell.. cooling is the WALL you will hit first with these little cpu's. Air was good up to around 3.4-3.6ghz for benching..water got me to 3.7 with a few of my cpu's. DICE or LN2 ..maybe even a good chiller setup should be able to hold a 4ghz clock.

*Have yet to find a stable vcore over 1.46v for any of the 5 e2xxx's I have.. sub-0 cooling would probably help to remedy that I assume.

I ran my E2140 at 3520 for 6 months before I sold it. I did it with a BT and then switched to H20. It was an M0. I think the OC is possible, just seems like very low volts. I had to go uo to 1.475ish (in BIOS).

i can't believe this...

have me wanting to change my chip now.. Nice work... The E2160 has got to be the most underrated chip Intel has produced this generation...

Ah, what happened to people here at overclock.net?

He gave a cpu-z validation. That should be enough for you people. Or are you going to start *****ing about the validations from EVERY SINGLE IMPRESSIVE OVERCLOCK you see? There goes the 4.2ghz Q6600 cpuz's. They have to be fake right? ...wrong.

Go play with your legos or something kids.

your best shot, besides taking apart every HP/Dell you see with a 2140, is to go to your local shop that sells OEM chips and look for 2140's with SLALS code. There could be G0 2160's but I don't know if they have a different code.
