I honestly don't know how that would fly. It's not news that OSX will only work on an Apple-branded computer. This isn't going to surprise anyone in the way that... say creative's crippling of their cards hurt them. People suddenly found that out and the people fought back. Apple has been doing this for many, many years now, so there is no "surprise" factor.

How easily ignorant statements are just spouted.. So mac will go under, and beaten by a platform that will have no support? Just wait for Apple to cripple the "clones" by not offering support like updates, or tech support. I doubt anyone would, and they would have to be idiots.

Not really? Its in the EULA. If a user ever installs OSX they will see that if they actually read it. Plus I doubt people would actually even care. The only time on OCN that somebody cares about Mac's are when it could potentially hurt the company. Other than that they are just bashed on as normal.

As the article says there is a Court case which possibly says the EULA is junk. Also, there are many Court cases saying a lot of draconian provisions in EULAs are not valid as you and I as consumers cannot negotiate from a position of equality.

If Apple goes after this company then it becomes Apple, (the friendly, hip company, cool company with cool products that really cares about their consumers (as seen by consumers)), smashing down a small guy. Part of Apples appeal is the David versus Goliath mentality (not getting into what software is the best, just general appearances in the public eye).

If Apple goes after a small time computer maker, they no longer are David, they just turned into Goliath crushing a small company trying to make a living. That's the black eye I'm talking about.

Like I said, I'm not sure it's going to play a huge role in the market.

Think about it. How many people know about this psystar deal? Not many.

Even if this did get more widely publicized, I think the apple "loyalists" would love this. Get into the mind of a mac-maniac. "Yes! Go Apple! Crush the wannabe Macs!" That only applies to the INsane crowd of apple's customers, though.

Is it any surprise Apple is defending their product's EULA? Not really. It has been this way since forever. There is no "surprise factor" like creative's fiasco, where people SUDDENLY found out creative's tactics and got angry.
