Well the PS3 has sold 10.49 million as of January 1, 2008 according to nextgenwars and the 360 has sold 18 million as of February 22, 2008
The 360 was released on November 22, 2005
The PS3 was released on November 11, 2006
Thats almost 1 year had. So half the figure of the 360 which comes to 9,069,990.5 (.5 accounting for everytime one fails)
Now...that would mean that the PS3 has sold 1million (or 100,000...my head hurts, its late) more units than the 360 in the same time scale.
Dont turn this into a PS3 vs 360 thread...the PS3 is already ahead
The PS3 isn't ahead. There's such a thing as diminishing returns, which is why people like you should stay away from analyzing statistics.
In order to analyze properly, you have to look at sales vs time using equal amounts of time ( like comparing 1st yr of PS3 sales vs 1st yr of Xbox sales. What you did is wrong on so many levels because ALL new products sell by the boatload when they're first introduced. New cds, new computers, new etc etc.
Now, on the otherhand, Sony IS finally ahead, with Blu-Ray having won.
btw, I'm poor and i own neither.
