Gunna oc 780i with q6600.

Alright well for right now im just gunna bring the q6600 to 3.0ghz.
Question is, Should i set my spp(northbridge) to 1.4v or so?
Also should i set the fsb voltage to 1.4 or so?
What else?
I was very familiar will ocing with my p5n-e sli but the 780i just has so many options.
The problem im having is, when i set my vcore to say 1.28v for 3.0ghz, right after i restart my pc and get back into bios, it says its at 1.2v..... I dont think this is vdroop because i didnt think that it happens in bios.
It just keeps changing the vcore voltage to 1.2v if i change the vcore voltage above my stock, 1.265v

this is the set up i had for 3.2GHz:

CPU FSB: 1.4v
Vcore: 1.3625v
SPP: 1.4v
MCP: 1.525v
HT Nforce SPP: 1.25v

*edit* as for your voltage changing, are you sure you are saving (f10)?

MCP is the southbridge. Handles PCI, PCI-E, harddrives, onboard audio, and USB i believe.

HT Nforce SPP i'm not sure about, but sounds like the bus that connects the SPP (northbridge) to the MCP.

Regarding the original post, I'm pretty sure there is vdroop in the BIOS vcore voltage reading(s). Just depends on which screen you're looking at (I also have the 780i; it's evga, but they're identical to xfx; you should have the same BIOS). "System Monitor" (I think it's called) shows some temps, and system volts. I usually see some droop there, even more than what I see in CPU-Z. The screen where you set voltages may also show vdroop...it definitely shows your actual (BIOS) vcore voltage setting, but the "current setting" to the right of that may show vdroop. So, you may see some vdroop in the BIOS vcore reading, in one or both places.

Sorry, not at home to confirm. I'll check and confirm when I am.

Can anyone help me get my Q6600 to 3.6. Its a G0 stepping with Artic Freezer Pro 7 cooler. i got it overclocked to 3.2 GHz with 1.5volts on vcore and 1.4 on fsb. I use Dominator PC2-6400 at 1006 MHZ. I think my timings are 5-5-5-15-22. Core temps are 49c at idle and abotu 58 on load. I use evga 780i mobo.
