[MSN] Sony delays Home...Again - Page 4

I don't like the idea of home...
Correct me If I/m wrong but lets say in want to join my friends in a game, would I have to lunch home, meet up with them, then join the game.
Or could I just put my Ps3 on and find my friend on the xmb, then join his game.?

I think there's a lot more to home than just launching games. It's really just a new approach to things, like online gaming, achievements, digital downloads, etc.

I'm not saying this to seem like an irrational fanboy, but for me, having 3D interactive menus just doesn't add anything for me. I don't want to "build a beach front home" the only reason I look at menus is to launch the games. The less time I have to spend on the menu the better.

You don't have to have an xbox live account to download things. There are two main accounts, Silver and Gold.

Paying for gold allows you multi-player, earlier release date for content, unified friends list, the ability to jump right into a friend's game from another match **OR** a completely different game*. Everyone is linked together through xbox live. You also have a recently played list of people you played multiplayer matches with. So if someone isn't on your friends list but you wanted to add them. you can do it anytime because the list does not clear out until you play with 30 other people. You can also join games with people from your recently played list as well. So you don't even need to be friends with a specific person to join their game. If you had a good time with them, you can join them later on in the day, week or even month.

You also have the added ability to send voice, texts, and picture messages(pics only work in dashboard) to anyone whether that person is in a game or not. I can send a voice message while im playing tenchu Z to some one playing burn out paradise with no problem or with a text message.

you also have guaranteed MAJOR updates every fall and spring. Then random small ones in between if needed.

Then you have xbox live figures like major nelson who gives you constant updates on what new with live, devs, news, and features coming out later with the major nelson Pod casts.

Then you also have a news section on the xbox live dashboard that tells you whats going on and what new.

Plus you can already download movies and tv shows which from what a quick google search by typing in "ps3 download movies" has shown me that feature is not yet available.

Silver has every feature except friend's list and online play and messaging.

[*this works by pressing the guide button, selecting your friends list. If you find your friend in a co-op game mode or a multiplayer match, you can jump right in from say gears of war straight into halo 3 just by inserting the disc. It automatically loads everything for you and automatically puts you in the correct room just by inserting the disc and thats it. no menus to navigate.]

Even though you have higher rep then me which to me is a little number next to a name(sorta like ranking systems which are pointless), I would like to say don't talk out of your ass before making assumptions. (i mention rep because some people like to pull the "he has higher rep then you blah blah blah" crap.)

Plus the last time i checked, everything the ps store offers isn't free. Hence why it's called a store.
