That's why you don't leave your !@#$ in plain sight. You don't leave valuables in your car. If you have anything of value that stays in the car (iPod, for example), put it in the glove compartment.
For example: my CD player is in my trunk. I always wondered why the hell they did that. Then it hit me. It's there so that it isn't in plain sight; being in the trunk, the deck in the front looks like a plain old tape player. But I can actually load CDs into the magazine in the trunk and control them from up front.
