Almost as stealthy as a ninja, AMD has managed to introduce two "new" energy efficient processors, the Athlon X2 4450e and 4050e. Both chips are dual-core parts with a TDP of 45W and, by the looks of it, they are identical to the previously released Athlon X2 BE-2400 and BE-2350.
The "new" Athlons can be hooked up to AM2 and Am2+ motherboards, are built on 65nm technology and feature 1MB of L2 cache. The difference between the two CPUs comes from the working speed which stands at 2.3 GHz for the 4450e and 2.1 GHz for the 4050e. AMD recommends pairing up the processors with a new 780G-powered motherboard for low power consumption and decent performance all-round.
