Almost as stealthy as a ninja, AMD has managed to introduce two "new" energy efficient processors, the Athlon X2 4450e and 4050e. Both chips are dual-core parts with a TDP of 45W and, by the looks of it, they are identical to the previously released Athlon X2 BE-2400 and BE-2350.

The "new" Athlons can be hooked up to AM2 and Am2+ motherboards, are built on 65nm technology and feature 1MB of L2 cache. The difference between the two CPUs comes from the working speed which stands at 2.3 GHz for the 4450e and 2.1 GHz for the 4050e. AMD recommends pairing up the processors with a new 780G-powered motherboard for low power consumption and decent performance all-round.

Yep. Just as innovative as slapping 2 dual core cpus together and saying you had the first quad core.

Lolz

If they can snatch a few customers from Intel with these on the premise of low power and gaining a little more brand recognition and what not then i guess that is a good thing but i'm sure we are all wondering why they are bothering to waste their time with these when they should be working 18hrs shifts getting The Phenoms to live up to their name
