Hi, new member wanting to fold for the team.

Thread Starter
Hi my name is Melanie, my husband Jeremy(lemans81) was telling me about the folding stuff and I decided I wanted to join and use one of our computers to fold under my own account. I will try to post here and there but mainly I want to fold for the site.

Yep, I helped her out. Stats weren't hard for me to fill out since she is using my main rig as her folding rig. She might also want to fold on her laptop as well, I am just afraid of heat.

You can give it a go on your lappy and see how the temps go and make sure its well ventilated. Generally I do not reccomend it though.

Those are not bad temps really. Mobile chips are ok with running a little warmer than there desktop counterparts. Give it a go and just see how you get on with your temps.

I leave it on from the time I get up until the time I go to bed which normally is 9am-10pm, 5 days a week. Jeremy told me he has a cooler thing I can sit it on that he says brings down the temps by 3 to 5 degrees. He says I could use his laptop if I wanted also it has a 1.6 ghz processor, but has a 3 year full warranty. Mine only has a one year, so maybe I will use his more and shut mine down more. I don't know, it just seems like a really good thing I want to do as much as I can. My mom got breast cancer when she was 30 years old.

This is what I have, it sucks air from the back and blows it under the laptop and quite a bit. The intake for our laptops is on the bottom and exhausts out the side, so it works very well with them.

I can understand your motivation.

Yeah that looks like it will help out a good deal.
