Well...they do sell some CPUs with unlocked multipliers. What else could that be used for?

This is sounds so ridiculous I don't know why I am even replying. But if this is true, then I will move to AMD no questions asked (after I get a Q6600 and overclock the hell out of it of course).
even though the enthusiast market is small, I thinkwe dictate a lot of the trends in the computer market. Intel is also killing it in the mainstream market, in my opinion, unjustifiably. AMD has some good budget CPUs out there that easily compete with intel, yet people I know will buy a less performing intel chip for a higher price simply because it is intel.

If you get all the techs, overclocking computer guys at the big box stores, and family members starting the intel sucks call, people will respond. People may not grasp why intel now sucks, but they would listen to the "people with computer knowledge".

I can't see intel doing this unless amd has a similar plan afoot.

AMD systems are only slightly more difficult to oc. That's only because there are 1 or 2 extra settings to consider when oc'ing an AMD that aren't needed on intel systems.
