Paint mod idea, what do you think about it?

Below are a couple of pictures of my rig. I was wanting to do some simple mods to it, but I'm not sure how it would look/work. I was thinking about painting the inside of it blue, the somehow having green speckles in it. Then, since I love frogs, I was thinking of trying to find some sort of frog decals or stickers of some sort to place over the inside of the case. How do you guys think that would work? What all kinds of materials would I need? Should I also paint the outside of the case green with blue speckles? Also I just noticed that my bottom left LED on the front of my case died, is there anyways to fix that? Would It look better to pain the outside blue/green speckles and the inside green/blue speckles? Just wondering. Thanks in advance guys, oh and just to point out a fact, this would have to be as cheap as possible do to the fact that my fiance is the only one working and hes only getting minimum wage, so money is tight.

I think maybe for simplicity's sake, maybe you could leave the exterior paint alone, and paint the inside only? Maybe do a nice green inside?

I like the reveresed paint schemes that you suggest for the inside and outside of the case.

Since money is tight, perhaps pioneer is on to something with his recommendation?

The LED can be replaced. Before you start, take a close look at the manner in which it is mounted to make certain you do not cause damage to any plastic pieces that are required to secure it.

How would I do this? I have never really looked into my front panel and I know NOTHING about replacing LEDs. Thank you very much for your input, it is much appreciated.

The LED will be accessible from either inside of the case (inner wall), or on the front-side of the same wall (usually behind the front bezel). Other manufacturers may mount the LED directly to the bezel.

The bezel should either pop out by releasing several plastic tabs, or by removing screws and/or nuts and bolts.

I'm not familiar with your case, but some cases have a plastic "module" that house the LEDs, and switches. Others simply have a spot of hot-melt glue to secure the LED.

Can you post a pic of the LED in question?

The paint scheme sounds like a good idea. The best way to get a speckled look is to dip a toothbrush in paint and run your finger over the bristles. It'll give you a nice speckled look. Practice on some scrap first though because it takes a bit of getting used to to get the speckles even and in the correct spot.

Do you need the internal pictures? I know thats kind of a dumb question, but if so I will be able to get them, but as I am a chick with long nails, and the stupid front comes off with the pinchy platic things, I will have to get my fiance to help take it off. I'm always afraid of breaking the plastic peices.

As for now, I'm thinking of doing the inside green/blue speckles, then when having the spare money for more materials, do the blue/green speckles due to the fact that I like the color blue much better than I do green. Does that sound like it would look nice?

Understood.

Put the man to work, and get him to take the front bezel off. (heh! ...no offense)

There is a distinct chance that the manner in which the LED is mounted will beome clear, and perhaps his manly instincts will take over and he will be able to remove it.

If this does happen... keep a close eye on the monkey, as we males have a tendency to bash things in a less than graceful manner.

erm... no offense to him either...

but seriously if it is not clear, and you are so inclined, post some pics of the front-side and the backside. There are many busy little hands here on OCN and surely one of us will see a solution.

Good luck.

P.S. watch the monkey...no bashy
