Warpspeeder

Thread Starter
Well, i upgraded my pc like 3 weeks ago (built my own for the first time), but i still havent done any OCing. I've never overclocked before, nor have i seen somone do it.

First off, i cant get into BIOS because when i boot my computer, some weird colours come up then it goes straight into windows.

Secondly, i dont know how to overclock through bios, or at all for that matter. I read the guide however.

So i wanted to know if Warpspeeder would be ok to use to OC my rig. I was fiddling with it and i noticed for every 3mhz up i went up around 30 mhz (checked CPU-z) in the speed. I set it back after.

im on stock cooling and my cpu (rig in sig) is at 2.3ghz right now.

Any help?

when you boot up your computer, hit delete a couple of times. That SHOULD get you into your BIOS.

I don't recommend OCing in windows. it can lead to read/write errors and you usually don't know whether or not you fried something until it's too late.

Unless of course this is a stock machine (Dell, HP, etc) i.e... not custom built.

In which case you're pretty much hosed.

Thanks, when the colours came up i kept hitting delete and finally got into bios.

However i guess i shouldnt use Warpspeeder then.

But I still dont want to screw anything up by manually overclocking it, especially since i dont have all the knowledge to OC in the first place. Is there settings i can just use for my cpu that will give me an overclock, instead of going slowly that is.

the short answer: no.

first off though, do you have a manufactured computer? (dell, hp, gateway, etc.)

If you have no idea what you're doing, I suggest you don't oc yet or you might fry something and go and read up on the ocing FAQ's that are scattered around.
