Where and how to attach Radiator and fans?

Thread Starter
Okay, I am going to be going watercooled shortly and am just curious about the placement of the radiatior in my case?

http://thermaltakeusa.com/product/Ch...x/MozartTX.htm

I have the Thermaltake TX and am wondering where would be the most efficient place to mount the rad? I am not sure whether or not to mount it inside, outside, and if I am supposed to have the fans blowing air through it or pulling air out.

My original though was to have it on the left set of the rear four fans (I am planning to have a dual 120mm) and have the two fans and shrouds also on the interior of the case blowing through the radiator out of the rear of the case. If this concept is completely wrong, please correct me.

i think it is really just personal preference. what you put what i would do. but i would use a quad 120mm fan heater core there.

Lol, jesus christ. That case has overkill written all over it.

And with that said, nice job!

I'm a fan of the top mounted rads. Its fun modding cases to make them work~

The case looks like it has enough room in it, you could probably mount it internally going up the back, displacing 2 of those 4 rear exhaust fans. Then mount the fans on the outside in a pull configuration.

*Edit
I see that you suggested the exact mounting that I suggested...in the op. =P

And I'm not a big fan of the rad hanging off the back setup. To me it always looks sort of cheap. And it takes up a lot of room anyway.

Slap that bad boy on the back and put the res just below it on the left side.

Most people prefer the rad inside for a cleaner look. But if you have warm air inside the case and your blowing it across the rad, then your not really helping your temps.

Most go for the pull setup. Someone around here has a diagram showing pull vs push vs both. Temps were the same pretty much the same with 1c-2c change. Push/Pull beat both but Pull beat Push.

I would have picked a case for WC that dont have 2 many fans. That one clearly has way to many!

Alright.. I only want a dual 120mm because I am doing a single loop cooling just CPU. So attaching it on the inside, with the fans attached on the outside pulling the air from inside the case through the radiator is the overall recommended setup?

As for the case, I know she's overkill I get bored with cases that have limited things to do to them. This one will take me through the whole summer before I'm done modding it.
