The cooler for the unit is a Peltier, so it will be adding a good bit of heat to the room, especially the area around the case. It is likely that that heat will also make it into the intake of the case which we hope will be dissipated by the TECs cold side. The cold side of this particular device does not appear to have a huge surface area to cool the air being circulated in the case. Compared to a Cars evaporator which has fins that are usually less than a millimeter apart with coolant expanding very close to the fins. This unit apears to have a basic copper heat sink that may fail to fully transfer its cooling well. also once it does exit the cooler it also needs to leave the case. I do think it could help but I don't think it is worth the power it will be wasting. The price of the unit is very attractive though. I think the pricing reflects what I have just stated above. Most likely the case was very expensive at one time and no one had faith in the design so they ignored it. Now Newegg wants to get rid of it. Could be fun to play with though.
