In need of a mobo.

Thread Starter
Looking for a motherboard that can overclock a q6600 well. Would like to be able to run SLI as well, my budget is around 130$ or less...

Is there anything out there?
My original plan was to go with a 680i, just wait for it to drop a few bucks or get it in a bundle, or something - But I've heard people were getting some bad overclockers. What should I do?

You probably won't find an SLI motherboard for $130. SLI is not cheap, thus neither are the mobos. Just go without SLI and grab a DS3L or BloodIron.

Very True! A decent sli board will cost you as there are only a few Boards that run Quad core Intels with Sli well, and they all cost around $250-$350.

The 650i and 680i boards are genrally pretty poor at overclocking quads (but great for duo's) and the 780i's are great for both but very expensive. If you cant afford one dont comprimise, Ditch the sli idea and get a gigabyte or dfi P35 board and clock the hell out the your quad core to make up for it.

Yeah, I think I'd rather have more CPU power then Video anyways.
Does it matter which p35 though? Is there any major differences between brands?

Edit* Wow, lots of p35 boards... I don't even know what I should be looking for.

No, the XFX 680i is only like $129.99, not that bad of a board, at least it will do what you want!

The Gigabyte GA P35 DS3L is only $90 at NewEgg. I think the 1100 viewer ratings and a overall 5 eggs at NewEgg speaks for itself. It does have some limitations but as long as you're good with those, it's a GREAT board for the price.
