I concur. Haven't noticed any slowdown running 1.1 on my p5n-e with a 4850 and a 5770. i actually tested this by using a mobo that had 2.0... sadly it wasn't mine so i couldn't keep it :swearing:

Don't ask me what this means, I just thought it was funny

Damnit, I had gone into the actual article, and didn't notice that it was from 2 years back almost until I saw they tested 3850's :|

Still relevant? How do we know? Maybe we should try running two 5970s in CF on PCI-e 1.1 slots, good chance PCI-e 1.1 has become a bottleneck by this point.

I MUST KNOW. I have been seeking answers to this question for about a year. The "still relevant" comment was in reference to the fact that those old cards wouldn't even saturate the bandwidth of 8x PCIe (at v1.x speed). I am still fairly certain that we are just approaching the bottleneck, but I need proof...

Friend with a 4870x2 confirmed a 1000 point increase coming from a p35 board to a P45 board.
