looks like a big upgrade to me. When you buy the parts and build it I'd like to see your build log!

I will probably end up going 50/50 with my dad on it, so I decided to just go ahead and get the best high end PC I could without spending $10k. I have been out of the loop for a while but I was glad to see that things havnt changed too much.

I will definetly be taking some pics of it, I plan on making sure this is a super clean rig.

If you're going to want to overclock that quad very far past stock you're going to need a better CPU cooler. Quads are notorious for putting off tons of heat.

If I were you, get a Raid 0 array instead of Raptor, or get a cheap HDD for now and wait until the new raptor comes out.
Oh and maybe 4gb good ddr2 instead of 2gb ddr3. Vista likes ram.

Yup, get a Thermalright Ultra for cpu cooling. Tuniq Tower is also a good choice.

I don't plan on doing any OC'ing, I want a really good computer that will last me for a long while. I didnt even realize that was a 2x 1G, infact I just realized this is my old wishlist, I had actually changed a few things, I better go fix that.

Even without OCing(which you should do), I would get atleast a tuniq.

And switch to 780i and ddr2, just because its expensive doesn't mean its better. DDR3 isn't worth it right now.
