conroe, scythe ninja, bad temps

Thread Starter
Some of you may remember me.
Anyways, I was running water cooling for a while but that got annoying so I switched over to air cooling. I picked up an all copper scythe ninja.

I mounted it once and i was getting idles in the 50's and load near 60.
Mounted again and getting same temps.
idle at 54 and load at 58.

Anyone got any ideas on why my idle and load are so close together.
When I took the sink off the first time it had pretty good coverage on the ihs.

ambient is 75f. vcore was at 1.35. I lowered it down to 1.285 to reduce temps.
they are currently at 49 idle.

not any more as5 then i usually do when I mount. And I usually have good mounts.

my vid card is at 42c, hdds are 42 and 46.

So my case runs kinda hot but I dont understand how this cooler can be so much hotter than everything else in the case.

Are you running it passive, if you have a fan on it what's the CFM rating?

Have you tried running with the side panel off? See if the case is causing the high temps.

i tried with side pannel off; no real difference in temps. They are slightly cooler with the side off, but everything drops a few degrees.

I have a scythe low cfm fan attatched to the fins and the antec p182 rear fan is also sucking air off in a push/pull config.

I dont know why these temps are so high, all I can think of is that im getting a bad mount. I know this chip used to idle low 30's or even 20's when I was on water with a solid mount.

If you have a bit higher cfm fan you should give it a shot, if that doesn't work I would try a reseat.

Also you might check realtemp first its supposedly much better than older programs http://www.overclock.net/downloads/322253-realtemp.html
