openSUSE 10.3 Problems

Thread Starter
I just installed openSUSE 10.3 and i used GNU GRUB to do it.I`m using only 1HDD .SUSE is installed on a fresh partition.now here is the problem:
in the boot menu i can chose openSUSE,Windows and openSUSE help.
if i try to boot in Windows it will bring me to a screen where i get this text:
Quote:
GNU GRUB 0.97 (638K lower/2095040K upper memory)

[Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported for the first word,TAB lista possible command completions.Anywhere else TAB lists the possible completions of a device/filename]

grub>

I tried using the Windows XP recovery console with fdisk /mbr and fixmbr but still cannot get into windows.i also used super grub disk 0.97.
maybe there is something that i`m missing.i`m not familiar with openSUSE.
if someone can help me it will be awesome.
Thank in advanced

Uh... It sounds like you're entering the GRUB program.

Are you moving to windows in the list and pressing "Enter"? Because the text you described only comes up for me when I press C in the GRUB menu.

How did that work out? Does that mean you ditched Suse completely? Because windows installs its own bootloader which DOESN'T allow you to boot Linux again without some tweaking.

Or did you reinstall both OSs, Suse after XP?

he could have just reinstalled grub. ive done it before, put vista on last, then fixed grub up to make it right again.

anywhoo, congrats on fixing your problem.
