Max temp on E8400

Im oc'n my 8400 right now and im curious how high i should allow for temp... i know that the vcore max is 1.365 i think... can anyone verify?

Yes, the max voltage you should apply is 1.3625v, but I would also like to know the max temps as well and the TJ max if anyone knows.

are you going off the vcore in the bios? if so do you go off the set vcore or the measured vcore?

You are fine past 1.3625V. I have had mine as high as 1.42V on air, and nothing bad came of it thus far. One guy on here had a chip die, blamed it on high voltages, and everyone assumed that the CPU couldn't handle that voltage. Plenty of guys on here have pumped well above 1.4V through their chips, and have yet to experience death. The Specifications say the Thermal limit is 72.5C, which is the same, or higher, than most chips. For safety's sake, however, I would say keep[ it under 50C if at all possible. Up to 60C for benching is fine, but I would recommend keep it under 50C load for 24/7 usage.

I could help you as well if you had a DFI

Uhh..voltages for cpu -- Dont worry as long as your under 1.45V

I run around 1.37 to 1.39 24/7

im there with you i have had mine to 1.53 set in bios for a 4.5ghz run droped it back down t0 3.6 and it actually ran at a lower vcore then used to. and temps you will never know lol nothing reads the temps right on this processor.

What to do with my ram, right now its unlinked and stock at 1.8v and 800 mhz...

I dont quite understand if i should link it or what..

I have had it dead stable at 1000mhz at 2.1v
