Highly modified Oblivion also knees my system down the ground.

PC gaming year 2008 has not started yet. These current cards won't last that long.

I wonder how they know the perfofmance will be comparable to RV770? I for one doubt that it will be.

By means of typical corporate espionage... So long as the card is in production it's easy to buy one on the black "tech" market.

Then release GT200 @ $500+ as the king of the hill.
I'm not going to pretend to be an expert, however I can almost guarantee you that the cost associated with the jump from 256bit -> 512bit bus is huge (due to it's complexity).
Chances are, the GT200 isn't a GPU, but a video card code name. Take a G92, pump it up with a little more power, shrink the die, add a 512bit interface, and give it 1GB of VRAM. There you go, a power hungry, extremely expensive video card, that's your GT200.

NVIDIA are like releasing a new card every freakin 2 months how ridiculous is that. Its retarded. They are recycling old crap and re-packaging it in a new sealed container.

here are some tips to lure customers to buy your cards.

1. Make your high-end products more affordable.Don't give me that crap that people are willing to pay at that price;sure some enthusiasts maybe but most of them assume that the more you pay the better it will be and you will get better performance. Did we see actual performance boost from the 9800gx2? hardly the price you pay for it doesn't really justify the extra-costs.

2. Sack your crappy programmers(including you ATi). Your programmers suck like hell. The fact that you have had over two years to fix performance problems really shows how enthusiasts you are. IF you want to be part of the PC gaming alliance show some input and think outside the square to why PC gamers are moving away. Don't blame on piracy.

Nvidia Confirms its 1 Billion-Transistor GT-200 GPU - The chip will come with a completely new architecture

Nvidia has officially gone public with its upcoming GT-200 graphics processor, after a long series of rumors. The company planned to talk about its new technology earlier this month during a press conference held in Munich (April 10), but the announcement would have arrived too close to the introduction of its Quadro professional series of graphics cards.

The GT-200 series of graphics cores will follow the G92-based chips and will come with dramatic technology changes to the existing architecture. Nvidia built its Geforce 9 series of products on top of the G80 architecture, except for some minor changes and improvements introduced in the "VP2" video engine.

The first benchmarks of GT-200 have already started to flood the specialized forums, but their origin and accuracy should be taken with a grain of salt. However, the new features of the GT-200 graphics chip have been disclosed by Jeff Brown himself, Nvidia's general manager of Professional Solutions Group.

According to Brown, the new generation of graphics cores will pack an amazing amount of 1 billion transistors, that will account only for "pure logic, no memory as in the CPUs case".

The incredible amount of transistors are designed to focus only on graphics computing tasks. The huge silicon surface would only confirm the rumors that the new CPU will feature about 200 shader units. In contrast, previous G80 and G92-GPUs can only handle maximum 128 computing engines.

Brown also explained that Nvidia would give further details about the upcoming GT-200 graphics core in May. However, Nvidia's executive did not say whether the company would publicly disclose technical aspects or whether it would deliver its key information to the press representatives bound by a non-disclosure agreement.

I'm pretty sure it's a new architecture.

-EDIT-

1) Affordable highend products... Oxymoronic
2) I agree on that point

Yeah, me too, thats a pretty bold statement when all the articles thus far have stated the shrink is merely to boost yeild and not performance. 55nm chip going into the same cards with the same bios = same performance at stock.....

1.I know its a oxymoron however, just look at the price of LCD/Plasma Tvs when they first came out how expensive where they? like $20,000 now look at them dirt cheap and affordable to buy because of the massive turnover. But, NVIDIA did have a massive turn-over and therefore should be reviewing their price-structure. I agree there are a business and out there to make money and aren't there out of their goodness of their heart. But, ultimately, they are ones who are going to end up killing themselves; because a lot of consumers don't want to upgrade. They brought the problem forward and therefore they should suffer.

NVIDIA made 1 billion dollars in revenue last year which company makes a billion dollars these days not many. Programmers are really bad. I would had given them sort of benefit of the doubt if they had taken 1-1.25 years but really its getting really pointless and frustrating of seeing betas. The new drivers have caused more problems then they have fixed.

3. As for the translation the reason why I pointed it out was because, its an English forum that why

how about nvidia concentrates more on drivers and not on bsing the g92? at least ATI is creative enough to make a new core every 6months-a year. the G90 has been out for god knows how long, and the G92 isnt much different. they even kept the same naming scheme, and went as far as to have 3 8800GTSs, with one based on G92 and 2 on G90. lets start thinking, start utilizing what you have, and then make some badass card that isnt choked by drivers.
