The LED lights on your case fans are self-powered

Yes, you heard it right. The fan does not use power from the PSU to light the LED. The electro magnet in the fan powers the LED. I never knew this until I was vacuuming out my case and I noticed that when the suction from the vacuum cleaner rotated the fan, the LED lit up.

I hope you took all your components out of your case before you started vacuuming.

I think one of my fans has self powered led lights as you mentioned and the other doesn't. So I think some are powered by the electro magnet and some are not.

That's not necessarily accurate. A motor can work as a generator but that's when electricity is not being applied to it iirc.
