Hi, first time poster long time lurker,

Heres my problem, I got one of the Fry's q6600 few days ago and I can't seem to get past 3.3 stable my temps are great never go over 55 load but I'm already at 1.51250 in bios 1.46 idle in windows and 1.42 at load this vdroop is killing me.

NB and FSB volts are normal I tried +.2 on each and it didn't help. Ram is 2x2g G.skill underclocked. I'm beginning to think I got a crappy chip. btw I have Cia2 and performance enhance off and C1E, Cpu thermal monitor, cpu EIST, Virtualization all off

system:
DS3L
Q6600(Scythe Infinity)
2x2g G.Skill DDR21000 newegg link

heres my bios settings:
Robust Graphics Booster(auto)
CPU Clock Ratio(9x)
CPU Frequency(366)
PCI E(100)
CIA2(disabled)
Performance enhance(standard)
System memory multiplier(2.00)
mem frequency(732)
Ram 5 5 5 15
Cpu volts(1.51250v)

Can you guys see anything I'm doing wrong?

I have the same board, your going to have to set 1.525 in BIOS. That will get you to 3.6

Try 400*9, make sure your ram is at a 2x multi. and loosen the timings.

*Edit* also make sure that your ram is set to +.4v in the Ctrl+F1 panel

1.5v is fine, I wouldn't go higher then that, and would be cautious about 1.5v for 24/7 use even thought the thermal max is this (See attachment). You should be able to do some fine tweaking to get 3.6 without increasing that VCore, make sure all unneeded BIOS options are OFF.

please forgive me if its up there but what setpping is the cpu? as it matters alot.

i have a G0 as apposed to a B3 (i think its B3) and with average watercooling im at 3.4 with 1.4vcore.

These Q6600s are great chips though, and not very fragile either

Something is likely a miss in the BIOS settings. A GO should do better than that unless its in a non quad friendly MB which I don't believe is the case here.

Yeah, sometimes it just takes a lot of juice (and a little knowhow) I just did a suicide run and managed 4ghz on my 1.315VID Q6600 boot stable, but didn't last to validation. Eh. Oh, and I had to crank it to almost 1.6v
