What is a good northbridge temperature?

My dad has the IP35-E. No extra nb voltage was given for overclocking. While the computer was on, I felt the northbridge cooler and it was extremely hot. Everest says the mobo temperature is 38C and the PWM is 54C. Should I get him an HR-05?

Or perhaps rig a fan on it if possible.

I dont think that'll help much because its not intaking cool air from outside the case

Have you thought of the Hr05?

I just got my HR-05 SLI/IFX today, and plan on putting it on my northbridge tonight. Its very pretty I'll let you know how it goes.

I had an HR-05 on my Maximus, lowered temps by 15C.

Its a little over kill, but if a HR05 fits, why not?
My NB used to get to 60 before the hr05, now only 40 at peak.

The heatsink is hot due to lack of airflow, not because there are no holes in the side panel. You just need a little fan blowing over it to nudge that hot air away.

+1,its strange that it gets hot without any extra voltage,i have my 2140 clocked at 3G on the same mobo and it doesn't get hot at all.

I ziptied an 80MM yate loon to the nb and now its 46C. Should I still be considering an aftermarket cooler?
